John Creed and Associated were engaged by Wexford County Council to design the foundations for this prominent monument in the centre of Enniscorthy Town.

Being aware that a number of structures in the area were constructed on piles, we had a Site Investigation commissioned that showed piles were required.

We designed the foundations taking the self-weight of the new 16m tall monument and the wind-load into consideration and specified the pile loading accordingly.

The stainless steel monument was constructed by local Wexford town firm Kent Engineering and the civil works were by another local firm, Bennett Tarmacadam.

The monument was unveiled in April 2016 in time for the commemorations on the centenary of the 1916 rebellion.
