John Creed and Associates were engaged as consulting structural engineers on this project.

This development consisted of the conversion of existing 19th century grain store buildings into a modern 3 storey apartment block and a new modern separate four storey apartment block. The grain store conversion was constructed using a steel structure with in-situ concrete floors cast on ‘hollow ribbed decking’, a type of permanent reinforcement with the entire structure sitting on an independent reinforced concrete raft slab.

The modern 4 storey block consists of upper floors constructed with ‘hollow ribbed decking’ with a transfer slab at first floor that transmits its loads onto reinforced concrete ground-beams sitting on continuous flight auger type piles.

Work started in 2005 and was completed in 2006.
